Amidst the chaotic scene in Tokyo, there are quiet parks you can visit in the city to breathe and unwind. We decided to take time out from all the non-stop walking and headed for Shinjuku Park to rest. Grabbed a sushi platter from a Family Mart nearby and enjoyed a sushi picnic after under cherry blossom trees.
If you’d like to see local life, spend a quiet afternoon in this park. Another recommended is Yoyogi park. People watching here is interesting and a great way to spend time. Strolling around the park and seeing the different types of cherry blossom bloom was a very zen experience – a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the streets outside the park.
I was so glad they were selling ice cream! It was such a perfect afternoon stroll.
Shinjuku Park is definitely a great stopover if your feet are tired from all the walking and commuting! My feet are thankful! Make sure to drop by when you’re exploring the Shinjuku area.
